History
The Solana Beach Ball began as Casino Night in 2003
as a means to address the shortfall of funds available in the areas of Art, Science, Technology
and Physical Education. Every year, the gap between what the schools needed, and what the
State of California was able to provide, widened. Casino Night
allowed parents a fun evening out, while raising additional monies specifically earmarked
for Solana Vista and Skyline elementary schools. Casino Night enjoyed a very proud and well-received debut.
Subsequent years were even more successful as parents looked forward to the opportunity to socialize with friends in an elegant and fun setting, knowing that their children and future students would benefit from the proceeds.
In 2006, Casino Night was transformed into a full-blown gala and renamed the Solana Beach Ball.
This turning point included a bold step of reaching out to community families and businesses,
allowing them the opportunity to directly participate in the fundraising efforts for our schools.
A dedicated committee of volunteers worked hard to increase awareness of the Solana Beach Ball
and take it to new heights. Each year, the Solana Beach Ball continues to raise an unprecedented
amount of money from a very generous and dedicated group of parents, teachers and local businesses.
These efforts continue to build and strengthen relationships between our schools, families, neighbors
and community partners here in Solana Beach. This mutual support ensures the success of our most
important investment... our children. Thanks to you, the Solana Beach Ball 2012
promises to be another extraordinary gala. We look forward to seeing you!
